Statements by Prime Minister Sorin Mihai Grindeanu at the beginning of the first Cabinet meeting

06 January

Sorin Mihai Grindeanu: Good evening, allow me to congratulate you for today’s hearings, for the vote in Parliament, all these already belong to the past. Today, it is our first Cabinet meeting and I want to outline once again the responsibility of each of us, following the Romanians’ vote on December 11, and today’s vote in Parliament, which oblige us to implement the project, the programme for government 2017-2020.

I want to further announce you few things, first of all, tomorrow morning, by 9 am, each Minister takes the office for which he was voted in Parliament. At the same time, I kindly ask you to make an inventory of urgent problems faced by each Ministry, so that you present them on Friday, on our next Government meeting.

As you know, there are two items on today’s agenda: a draft law on entitling the Government to issue ordinances and a draft Emergency Ordinance to establish measures in the field of central public administration and to amend some legislative documents. There are absolutely necessary things for the proper functioning of this Cabinet and secondly, to allow the Parliament over the next days, to pass the draft law.

The campaign passed, we have all required approvals for the two legislative documents, we have already started our activity.

Thanks to media representatives!
