Message by Prime Minister Mihai Tudose on the National Day of Romania

"Today, we are celebrating the National Day, the Great Union Day of 1918, with confidence and the hope of confirming a new history page for Romania, for Romanians.

The 1st of December 1918 rendered Romania united and respected, and history has shown that that moment opened the way for a period of modernization of the country. Our mission is to contribute concretely to the development of Romania, and to provide better public services - quality medical assistance, an efficient education system, infrastructure adjusted to the current needs – and also to bring prosperity for every Romanian.

The 1st of December 1918 brought to Romanians dignity and the fulfillment of the national ideal. The Centenary of the Great Union is our commitment to redefining national values.

The Centenary of the Great Union will be not only a moment of marking history but, especially, a milestone for bringing national identity back to its due place.

Happy Birthday, Romania! Happy National Day , Romanians home and abroad! Happy National Day to all who are living in Romania!”

Mihai Tudose,

Prime Minister of Romania
