Prime Minister of Romania, Sorin Grindeanu has had today, in Brussels, a meeting with the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk.
The main topical issues on the European agenda alongside the new Bucharest Cabinet’s priorities have been addressed during the meeting.
The Romanian Prime Minister has presented the Government’s priorities, with focus on economic measures to stimulate economic growth and employment, which are extremely important in the current European context and are of direct interest for citizens.
Also, the Head of the Executive has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continuing the fight against corruption, expressing his readiness to work with European institutions in this respect.
With regard to European topics, engagement and strengthening Romania’s role in the EU represent priorities for the Romania Government. The EU unity and support for deepening European integration are essential, if we look at current internal and external challenges that EU is facing. Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu has underlined that any initiatives conducive to division must be firmly fought.
