Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Polish Republic Jacek Czaputowicz and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă had today a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Polish Republic Jacek Czaputowicz and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on the occasion of the two Ministers' participation in the trilateral consultations Romania- Poland- Turkey, to be held on the same day in Bucharest. The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu will also participate in the talks.

Talks focused on the three states’ contribution to ensuring the regional and Euro-Atlantic  security, with focus on NATO priorities in the current international context.

Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă mentioned the activities carried out at the level of Government and relevant Ministries, to ensure Romania's substantial and permanent participation to carrying out the Alliance’s objectives and missions. Given the diversity of the new risks and challenges to security, the Romanian Prime Minister emphasized the firm commitment of Romanian authorities to fulfilling the obligations undertaken with respect to strengthening the NATO deterrence and defence capacity, support for the assistance programmes for partner states and participation in the international efforts to combat terrorism. In this context, the Romanian Prime Minister referred to the importance of stability and security in Western Balkans and the Black Sea area.

The Romanian Prime Minister also underlined the importance of the NATO members’ solidarity and unity as well as their shared responsibility in ensuring the necessary resources for the Alliance to continue to efficiently respond to current security threats and challenges. Prime Minister mentioned the significant efforts and the substantial progress achieved by Romania in the increase of the defence budget and the armed forces modernization, as well as in the consolidation of national resilience, in line with the Allies commitments in 2014.

Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă voiced Romania’s willingness to continue the close cooperation with Poland and Turkey, with a view to promoting the common security objectives at regional and allied level.
