On this occasion, guarantee and payment documents for unfolding the programme: „Invest in yourself” were signed and the session of applications for obtaining the funding for cinema productions was opened.

„Implementing these programmes will have both economic and social benefits: creation of better paid jobs and attraction of investment projects  with big added value” stated Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, underlining the potential of these two governmental programmes to strengthen Romania as an attractive destination for the business environment.

The launch of the programme „Invest in yourself” and the signing of the documents necessary for its unfolding represent a perspective open to young people and active persons to ensure funding to improve their professional training or for access to different healthcare services and sports activities.

Starting October 15, all interested will be able to take loans with interest covered by the state budget, and for the loans contracted, the study years will represent the grace period for this type of financing.

Starting October 15, young people aged between 16 and 26 may contract to this end loans up to 40,000 lei, and people aged between 26 and 55 can take loans up to 35,000 lei. If the one who applies for a loan is an employee, he can benefit from an extra 20,000 lei.

Through the second governmental programme that reaches today the implementation stage, "Support for the cinema industry", film producers can apply for state-guaranteed funding for Romanian and foreign films produced in Romania. Applications can be submitted as of October 12.

With an earmarked budget of 50 million euros per year, this governmental programme, thought after a model that proved successful for the American film industry, is announced to be Europe's most attractive state aid scheme for cinema.

By encouraging the private initiative in the field of cinema and film production made in Romania, the programme will also contribute to the promotion of our country as a tourist destination and the promotion of Romanian values, history and traditions internationally, including in the context of the Centennial Year.

As of tomorrow, film makers may apply for state-guaranteed funding for Romanian and foreign productions made in our country. The projects will be selected by a commission of Romanian and foreign professionals comprising: Dan Piţa, director and screenwriter, Adrian Titieni, actor, PhD professor, honorary president of UNATC, Kevin Dillon, actor, Sterian Alexandru, doctor of cinematography, and Stan McCoy, president of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)

Cinema productions to be selected in the programme will receive state aid worth between EUR 100,000 and EUR 10 million, money from which it will be possible to cover up to 45% of the eligible costs for the production of films made in Romania and that promote our country, respectively up to 35% of the total eligible costs for the development of film projects and film production in Romania.

The two government programmes are implemented and monitored by the National Commission for Strategy and Prognosis.
