Vice Prime Minister Ciolacu met with the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia


Vice Prime Minister Ion Marcel Ciolacu had today at Victoria Palace a meeting with a delegation led by the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze.

On this occasion, the two parties discussed about the possibility of identifying the economic development opportunities existing between Romania and Georgia, while emphasizing the importance of developing the energy and transport routes along the Black Sea- Caspian Sea corridor.

Vice Prime Minister Ion Marcel Ciolacu also reaffirmed Romania’ support for Georgia’s European and Euro-atlantic aspirations. Romania was the first EU member state to ratify the Association Agreement between the European Union and Georgia.

In 2017, Romania and Georgia mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
