Prime Minister Mihai Tudose at the meeting with Ford delegation: Romania- conducive environment for investment expansion


Prime Minister Mihai Tudose met today, at Victoria Palace, with a Ford delegation led by Vice President Andrew McCall, meeting which was part of the constant dialogue between Government and the business sector representatives.

The Vice President of Ford discussed the implementation stage of Ford investment in Craiova, including the creation of nearly 1700 new jobs, already announced by the company.

Prime Minister Mihai Tudose outlined the importance of the automotive industry for the Romanian economy both in terms of its share in GDP and the social development, by creating new jobs both directly and through the economic engagement effect.

„Romania has a conducive environment for investment growth, and the development of Craiova-based Ford plant confirms this. More investments mean more and better paid jobs” stated the Head of the Executive.

Other topic of discussion referred to infrastructure. In this context, Prime Minister Tudose mentioned that Pitesti –Sibiu Highway, and the connection between Pitesti and Craiova are Government’s priorities and will be finalized by the end of his term of office.

State Advisors Marius Nica, Gabriel Andronache and Felix Rache also attended this meeting.
