Prime Minister Florin Cîțu hosted today a working luncheon in honour of the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda who is paying an official visit to Romania, at the invitation of President Klaus Iohannis. The visit of the Polish President to Bucharest takes place amidst the 100th anniversary of the conclusion of a Romanian – Polish Defensive Alliance Convention, signed on March 3, 1921.
During the discussions held on this occasion, the two officials welcomed the excellent bilateral relations between Romania and Poland and expressed their mutual desire to further deepen and expand the bilateral relations in multiple areas. They also agreed to organize the third joint Romanian –Polish Government meeting in Warsaw this autumn, and to take this opportunity to agree on an updated 2021- 2025 Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategic Partnership between our countries.
The economic cooperation both in terms of the Romanian – Polish trade relations and boosting reciprocal investment in the two countries, as well as the energy cooperation, will represent priorities of the bilateral agenda, in addition, to close military and security cooperation.
Other topic addressed during the working luncheon aimed at the exchange of views on internal vaccination campaigns in Romania and Poland as well as regarding the beneficial effects of their successful unfolding on the two states’ economies.
