Prime Minister Ludovic Orban attended the "European Dinner", event organized by the Munich Europe Conference, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference



On the occasion of the 56th Munich Security Conference held on February 13-16, 2020, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban attended the Munich Europe Conference as a guest of honour.

The 15-year-old event held on the evening of February 13, brings together high –level political and business representatives. Held under the title „Responsibility for Europe- new ideas, new minds”, the conference aims at strengthening political and economic cooperation at European level, seeking to establish a forum designed to coagulate points of view and proposals to the benefit of citizens, with particular focus on EU’s external relations and its role in the neighbourhood.

In his address, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban presented Romania’s views on recent developments at the international level, with focus on the interdependence between security and economy, as well as on the challenges and opportunities associated with globalization.

In this context, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban outlined our country’s role and contributions at European and international level, facilitated inter alia by the growth and integration of certain sectors in international production chains, the competitive tax system, and its attractiveness for foreign investors.

The Head of the Romanian Executive emphasized the solid pro-European profile of our country, highlighting Romania’s active involvement in the efforts towards strengthening the EU and its major policies as well as in increasing cohesion among the Member States.  Prime Minister Ludovic Orban mentioned the Romanian authorities’ commitment to responsibly acting in tackling the increasingly complex international challenges, including regarding the climate change issues and reiterated our country’s interest in promoting open and fair relations with global partners.

Emphasizing the special importance Romania attaches to Black Sea region developments,  Prime Minister Ludovic Orban reviewed our country’s commitments and involvement in connectivity networks in various areas, such as transport, energy, digital infrastructure, that will equally contribute to Romania’s development and the implementation of EU’s strategic objectives over the next years.
