Prime Minister Ludovic Orban attends the Munich Security Conference

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban attends the 56th edition of the Munich Security Conference, on February 13-16, 2020.

The event brings together leaders and important decision-makers in the security and defence field – heads of state and government, representatives of international and regional organizations’ leadership, including the EU and NATO leadership.

 In this context, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban has scheduled meetings with counterparts from several states, as well as with top representatives of the business community.

The Romanian delegation’s participation in the Munich Security Conference is an opportunity for promoting Romania’s profile as EU and NATO member state, strategic partner of the United States, deeply committed to strengthening the European construction and the Transatlantic relations.

On the sidelines of the Conference, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban is a guest of honour and will deliver a speech at the „European Dinner”, an event organized by the Munich Conference for Europe.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban’s schedule includes attending the state dinner hosted by the Bavarian state premier Markus Söder as well as delivering a speech, alongside representatives of EU institutions and European counterparts, within a panel on „The European Union’s future”.

The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Ludovic Orban to Munich includes Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu, National Defence Minister Nicolae Ionel Ciuca, the presidential adviser on national security, Ion Oprisor, alongside the Ambassador of Romania to Germany, Emil Hurezeanu.

The Munich conference is an important informal platform for debates on major issues of the international agenda, in the security area, as well as an opportunity for European politicians to strengthen ties with counterparts from US, Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
