Prime Minister Nicolae –Ionel Ciucă’s meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania)

Prime Minister Nicolae –Ionel Ciucă met with the AmCham delegation that represents more than 500 companies carrying out their activity in Romania.

The AmCham Romania representatives voiced the readiness of most of its members to maintain and develop investment in Romania. The dialogue highlighted a series of challenges that the business sector is facing as well as the labour shortage, the declining birth rate, the need to cut through the red tape and the digitalization, and the need for a balanced fiscal –budgetary policy. The regulatory status of certain legislative provisions in the fields of healthcare and cybersecurity was also addressed.

"The stability, predictability and confidence are principles underlying the Government’s dialogue with the business sector. The x-ray of AmCham representatives today coincides with the Government's assessment. Our dialogue has identified the important issues that the Government needs to address, ensuring transparency in the implementation of the programme for the government. We need to facilitate a legal framework through which to continue cutting through the red tape, removing obstacles and time, will and optimism-consuming processes for investors. We have the responsibility of building a balance-building mechanism in a dynamic environment from the perspective of concerns and threats. We want to enhance Romania's credibility as a country of investment and a stable business environment. We are working hard to reduce the negative effects and capitalize on the existing opportunities in this period, including from the perspective of business relocations in the region. Regarding the Strategic Partnership with the United States, Romania relies a lot on the capacity of the U.S. business environment to generate new investments in our country ", stated Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă.

Attending the meeting on behalf of the Government, along with the Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă, were Adrian Câciu, Minister of Finance, Florin Marian Spătaru, Minister of Economy, Sebastian-Ioan Burduja, Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, Alexandru Rafila, Minister of Health, Florin Dobrescu, Secretary of State with the Entrepreneurship and Tourism Ministry, Dan Cărbunaru, Spokesperson for the Romanian Government, and George Agafiței, State Advisor at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
