Holding the third joint government meeting, among the topics discussed during Prime Minister Florin Cîțu’s meeting with the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin


Prime Minister Florin Cîțu had today a meeting with the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin who is paying a state visit to Romania during June 8-10, 2021, at the invitation of his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Florin Cîțu emphasized the special nature of the Romanian –Israeli bilateral relationship as well as the very good level of cooperation in sectoral areas of shared interest, such as defence, economy and tourism. The Head of the Executive also pointed out that the Government he is leading, focuses on reforms, and the Romania –Israel Business Forum, to be held on June 9, will represent a good opportunity for new investments.

The President of the State of Israel voiced appreciation for Romania’s role in the fight against anti-Semitism, conveying thanks for all the efforts the Romanian authorities have made in this respect. Moreover, the President of the State of Israel welcomed the decisive role of the contacts between the Romanian people and the Israeli people, and of the community of Israeli citizens originating from Romania, in the development of the close partnership between Romania and Israel.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Florin Cîțu agreed, together with the President of Israel, that a joint Romanian-Israeli government meeting needs to take place by the end of the pandemic, for even closer cooperation between the two states.
