The meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the coordination of Romania’s relations with OECD, chaired by Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă
Today, Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă chaired the meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the coordination of Romania’s relations with OECD.
During the meeting, the state of the accession process was analyzed after the successful finalization of the first stage, through the submission in Paris of the Initial Memorandum, at the end of last year.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă called on all institutions in charge of meeting the OECD standards to treat with maximum priority the activities necessary to attain the line objectives.
"I request you to actively participate in all OECD working meetings, to fulfill, on time, all your obligations, including here the answers to the clarifications requested by the Organization's experts, the implementation of related measures, and the continuous assessment of the status of the accession process. At the level of the Government, you have all the support to optimally manage the entire journey. Accession to OECD is a strategic objective for Romania and will bring substantial foreign investments and an increase in the Romanians’ living standards. The most important benefit will be the transformation of the Romanian administration into one harmonized with Western standards, which the OECD developed countries are already successfully implementing", stated Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă.
